The professional corporation was initially formed to offer consultative services in the areas of assistive technology, ergonomics, and re-constructive design for handicapped accessibility to the community.
The couple later decided that they wished to expand their operation to additionally offer continuing occupational therapy services, assistive technology services, vision teaching, special instruction and ongoing service coordination for the birth-to-three years Early Intervention population in Erie County.
In the desire to provide comprehensive services within the Early Intervention Program, South Shore Comprehensive Therapies was formed in 2000 and new professional partners were added in the fields of Speech Language Pathology, Physical Therapy and Social Work. The business was then moved to 697 Ridge Road in Lackawanna in the Victoria Center Building.
Supervisors were acquired in the departments of Special Instruction and Service Coordination to complete the goal. With the new expansion, the company could now provide initial comprehensive assessments, which help determine a child’s eligibility for the Erie County Early Intervention Program
In addition to these initial assessments, South Shore Comprehensive Therapies also added the ability to provide for the Early Intervention Program single discipline supplemental evaluations, home and community based intervention services, parent/family training, parent child groups and ongoing service coordination.
In collaboration with Monarch Nursery School & Playgroups aka Monarch Little Learners Academy, a unique relationship was formed to offer integrated parent child groups and basic developmental nursery school groups.Monarch Little Learners Academy a NAEYC accredited, academically enriched childcare center is also owned by Dr. and Mrs. Iwanenko.
In 2002, another expansion took place which allowed the organization the ability to provide related services to the preschool and school age population, offering Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy to children approved for Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE) services.
Additionally, a relationship was formed with The Audiology Center, LLP which enabled the provision of both ongoing audiological services and evaluations to the Early Intervention population.
In 2003, the company added a new pediatric division called ChildPro of Western New York, LLP to better highlight its specialty of working with children. It is this component of the organization that handles the organization’s pediatric clientele, in its preparation to expand into the adult-based population in the future. ChildPro Inc. was also formed in January 2003 as an educational corporation, in order to provide educational services to children in the Western New York Area, when we began the process to receive New York State Education Department approval for special education programs and services.
The journey was not over but only beginning in 2004 as the organization moved into its new location at 1025 Ridge Road near the Lackawanna/West Seneca border.
In 2005, ChildPro Inc. secured the required New York State Department of Education approval to provide special education services to the preschool population.

In September 2005, ChildPro Inc. added its Special Class in an Integrated Setting (SCIS) program in collaboration with Monarch Little Learners Academy.
In 2005, both ChildPro of WNY, LLP and ChildPro INC had yet another expansion with the addition of Niagara, Geneses, and Orleans Counties, and the opening of our Niagara County Office.
In September of 2006, ChildPro Inc, will open two SCIS classrooms in a collaboration with St. Hyacinth’s Head Start and Frontier Central School District’s UPK in Blasdell.
